The intentions of the heart
Are a mystery at best,
They are hidden deep within
Where often is no rest.
They surface for a little while
For better or for worse,
Sometimes they make you happy
Sometimes they make you curse.
They belong to only you
And only you can know for sure,
If your feelings are for real
Or are they premature?
Really there is only One
Who knows your hopes and fear,
And what others will never know
The intentions you hold dear.
A wise man should consider
The intentions deep within,
A place where truth meets honesty
A place that also sins.
Deep within our soul
Somewhere in our mind,
A place like no other
A place that's hard to find.
But only you and God do know
What you really do believe,
The intentions of your heart you see
Are easy to deceive.
God says He judges a man
By the intentions of his heart,
So walk humbly before The Lord
And never to depart.
